Much of real estate selling happens through channel partners and brokers — and they sell best when they can see what is actually available. But handing outside partners access to your inventory raises a fair worry: how do you keep control? The answer is to share the right live view, with the right limits.
Why partners need live availability
A broker working from a day-old availability list is a liability. They pitch units that are gone, promise what they cannot deliver, and create exactly the double-booking conflicts you want to avoid. Giving them a live view — what is genuinely available right now — makes them more effective and protects your reputation at the same time.
Share the view, not the controls
Control comes from scoping what partners can see and do:
- Show availability and pricing relevant to them, not your entire internal picture.
- Let them place a hold or raise a booking request, but keep confirmation in your team's hands.
- Restrict who sees what, so a partner sees their scope and nothing more.
- Keep a record of every partner action, so accountability is clear.
Partners get the live information they need to sell; you keep the final say on every commitment.
How holds keep it clean
The mechanism that makes partner access safe is the same one that prevents internal double-booking: visible, expiring holds. A partner can reserve a unit while closing a buyer, everyone sees it is held, and if the deal does not firm up, the hold expires and the unit returns to the pool. No unit is quietly tied up, and no two partners chase the same one.
